Good point! All of my participants always tried Drag&Drop first, no matter if they should move or copy an e-mail, but with Drag&Drop you can only move e-mails. My suggestion is a two-level Drag&Drop-function --> after having dropped the selected object somewhere, the software asks the user if he would like to move or copy the object to this place (e.g. the file explorer on Windows PCs works this way)
Some had issues finding the logout button and searched it in the top right corner.
Also applied to two of my participants.
yes, it is apparent from the videos. Some test persons always tried to write the text on top and gave feedback that it is confusing.
I agree with you, @Catherine. Both of these two problems applied to all of my participants.
Same problem with my participants.
Same problem here with all of my participants.
Same problem applied to my participants. Good idea @Testmiriam !
This ticket applied to almost all of my participants - instead of clicking the logout button they wanted to close the whole window to log out because they did not find the button. Therefore, I think this ticket should be considered by the software developers. What about the other participants?
good catch
top/bottom posting is configurable. It might make sense to change the default.
I don't know if I can convince our developers to change it though.

General problem: if user uses first option here, they tend to use the same option for every other action/function, but sometimes this option is not available (-> consistency).

Die Option auch direkt über Klick auf die blau markierte Adresse eine E-Mail zu schreiben, kann ja trotzdem noch bestehen bleiben.
you need to list all the places where we need a context menu. and what should be in it.
What options are in the wrong place in your opinion?
We have two indicators for unread: bold text and star icon. In the latest version (beta.kolabnow.com/apps) the star colored yellow.
It should be sufficient.
Was this an actual problem in the usetest?
Jan 28 2018
I think I already wrote this in a ticket before we did the usetest. So the test showed that it really might be a problem
Ich finde auch, dass die option nicht besonders offensichtlich ist
ich kenns von anderen e-mail programmen allerdings auch nur so, dass die ungelesen e-mails eben schwarz und fett sind und die anderen grau
Ist das bei euch anders?
Same problem with two of my participants!
I think there are two problems: one is to find the function; the other one is the consistency with right mouse click options.. therefore I opened a new ticket for the second problem (T3514)

Yes!
In T3469#50572, @Testmiriam wrote:also see ticket T3463
Ja da waren noch mehr aber die waren ja für bevor man eine Mail abschickt und das war eine andere Form von Archivieren laut @bohlender
also see ticket T3463
All of my test persons had Problems to find the function.
You're right. I tried to include it in the ticket
Two of my test persons were confused as well. They did not realise that they were writing the correct text all the time but it just appeared underneath the mail they were answering.
Realised the same problem but I think it is more of a general theme: the folder administration is not intuitive. "Right click" should provide most of the options that are available via "actions"-> "administration":
"not clear what are the selected mails because of low contrast (the blue background of the selected mail)."

I get the point with "not overlapping any buttons" but I think that this depends only on the time for which you display the feedback. I use posteo for example (a program which uses roundcube, as bohlender pointed out to me, maybe the first skin of it?) and always get feedback in the center. But since 1. the feedback window is not too big (see screenshot) and 2. it only appears for a short time (during which I usually cannot do anything anyway just because the program is loading or anything else!) there is no problem like: "I have to wait until the feedback disappears until I go on". So I think when notifications appear in the center, it is a matter of time whether this is irritating or simply good to perceive and thus helpful.
The old-old skin displayed these messages on top-center. Then we created a new skin that displays them in right-bottom. I think back then the reason was to not overlap buttons with them. We had not much complaints about that since. On the other hand there were complaints about these notifications being distracting. So, I'm looking for a compromise here. If we put them in right-bottom, but make them more distinct, it could maybe work, if we do not touch the (quite often) "loading" message (so this one is not so much distinct).

@machniak
I definitely think that the "colorful feedback boxes", as proposed by johnajackson in that thread, would be recognized more easily! (I mean the boxes, that are completely in one color; yet it seemed to me that you were not actually convinced by that suggestion...?)
Yet I am not sure they fix the problem, since the position is definitely the main point. I've tested the program with a friend of mine recently, and his main criticism of the whole program was that he said he "didn't get enough feedback"! Since there actually is quite a lot of feedback (what I know now because I have paid attention to the all those boxes, since I know where they appear), it is definitely a problem of not perceiving it in that corner. My friend added he "would have expected something in the upper part or the center of the site, just a box or a window telling me what had just been done".
