no clear distinction of menu "actions" and menu "more"
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

How to reproduce:
try any action concerning options, which are included in either the menu "more" or the menu "actions" (menus shown in the screen shots)

Actual result:
it is not clear, which content you will find in the menu "more" and which you will find in the menu "actions". There are no indicators to what sorts of options are available in each menu. Hence, people will always have to work with trial & error to find what they are looking for.

Expected result:
clear indications to what menu contains what options, e.g. "more" only contains options regarding the email and "actions" only generell email options.

What options are in the wrong place in your opinion?

I think the usetest showed, that the whole "actions" to get to the folder-management is not intuitive to find and the folder-options probably should be organised differently anyway (T3457)

I also think it's not clear why there would be another "button" to flag the e-mails within the actions menu. In my opinion the main problem is the whole "actions" part. It's unclear which options you will find in the action-submenu and to me it's still not clear what the relation of the items in the actions-menu should be.

All the actions you can find in the "more"-menu are related to e-mail options, just like the rest of the buttons in the upper line - so that wasn't a problem for my participants.

I think the whole actions button will be better to find at the upper line of functions.
All participants at first take a look at the upper line before search at the lower left.

Yes my participants also searched in the upper line first

-> I can't distinguish what menu includes what; what is the structure of each menu?
if the "more" menu includes only email related things I wouldn't include "filter" and "import"
-> what is the content of the "actions" menu? if it is everything not related to emails, "mark all as read"/"flag" shouldn't be included but I agree with @Testmiriam's comment
