''Flag''-Function Confusing
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

//Problem//

There are several functions for marking a message. One of my test-subjects got confused because of it.
He did not know, whether by marking a message with the flag was the same as marking the E-Mail as ''unread''.

Possible Solution

A text could appear when the cursor stands over the ''flag''- function saying ''Mark E-Mail as important''

No, i think that menu is clear enough! The problem arised when the participant tried to mark the E-Mail directly...

@CarlosHR Could you maybe add a screenshot? With your description alone I don't really understand what the problem is...

Do you mean this?

I also think that a text like "Mark E-Mail as important"/ " Email (als wichtig) markieren" would be better than "Flagged/ Not flagged" and "Gekennzeichnet"/ "nicht gekennzeichnet" when holding the mouse over the flag.

Is flagged a term for marked as important in English ?

@Annika

I think we already had this discussion that "flagged" - which is the English equivalent to what would be "als wichtig markieren" in German - must be translated appropriately; only calling such an email "markiert" ist not good since you can also "markieren"/"mark" an email as read/unread! So maybe calling this "gekennzeichnet/nicht gekennzeichnet", as in your screenshot, is already the outcome of what we have been pointing out before, and I have to say I find it not so bad a solution...
