Consistency:
It's possible to recoginze the Symbol for "Einstellungen" (Settings) but still every othe program I know uses a cogwheel (Android, Windows, Mac/IOS ...)

Not quite true, iOS and macOS uses the same symbol e.g. for editing pictures, but I agree with you that it is not as easily recognizable as the cogwheel...

I think this is an issue that is very difficult to solve: We haven't got any possibility to decide or test which symbol is recognized better (the used 'settings' symbol or the gearwheel). I think the currently used 'settings' symbol describes the function of the button pretty well.
