Kontact categories vs. webmail categories
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

After migration Roundcube show the migrated Event categories. Among the default ones (like Personal, Work, Family, Holiday) there are custom ones. Users are missing those categories in Kontact.
Needs clarification and troubleshooting.

The attached screenshot shows categories migrated, but they doesn't show up in Kontact.

adomaitis subscribed.

Reassigning. There is nothing I can do about it. Developers should give information why categories are not picked by Kontact while they are by RC.

Categories are not automatically migrated.
They should be stored in kolab configuration objects, but kontact only does that as you view an event with certain categories.
I assume roundcube does something similar, but already collects all available categories for the drop down dialog.

There is no fix for this planned as this is a temporary migration issue.

OTRS #1100028, there are user comments on that.

If an event is tagged with a category in web-UI I can see the category in event
description in client, but it doesn't appear under "categories" in event edit.
