Summary

This is required for Outlook for Android to show events at all,
and doesn't seem to break anything.
Also, it seems to be what Outlook for Windows is doing.

Event Timeline

mollekopf created this revision.

The spec. says Body is optional. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/openspecs/exchange_server_protocols/ms-ascal/70161e94-3b50-4d20-8c4d-e3ca608f9dc8

This will apply to events, tasks, contacts and notes. I propose to test if that change will not cause event exceptions (with no description) to overwrite the parent event description.

I'm abandoning this revision for now.

I don't think there would be a problem in events with exceptions as I think both would contain the description, but I couldn't try because recurring events did not sync in the first place.
